David Sills V Set to Join Denver’s Practice Squad

David Sills V’s NFL journey is far from over. The former Mountaineer wide receiver is signing with the Denver Broncos, according to several reports like one from Mike Klis who covers the Broncos for 9News in Denver.
Sills will be added to Denver’s practice squad after being released by the Giants ahead of Tuesday’s roster cut down deadline. A fan favorite in New York, Sills caught only 23 passes in two seasons but was a key contributor on special teams.

In Sills’ final preseason game against the Jets, the 6-foot-3 receiver caught six passes for 81 yards, including a touchdown in the final minute.
Sills, a former standout receiver at West Virginia, was included in the Giants’ 53-man roster in 2022, making past the Tuesday cuts last summer. Sills recorded 106 yards on 11 receptions in the first eight weeks before becoming inactive for the rest of the season. Sills’ best game was against the Carolina Panthers where he tallied 37 receiving yards.
Sills was preparing to enter his third season with the Giants. After the 2019 NFL Draft, Sills was signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. Sills spent four months with the Bills before being waived. From then, Sills was signed by the Giants as a practice squad member that year.
Prior to his NFL career, Sills played three seasons for the Mountaineers in 2015 and 2017-18, totaling 132 receptions for 2,097 yards and 35 touchdowns.
