Former Mountaineer Daryl Worley is sticking with the Ravens despite not making their main roster. Baltimore is signing Worley to their practice squad, just a day after he was cut from their active roster.

This exact turn of events occurred around this time last year. Baltimore continues to not want to let Worley get away, but he also continues to struggle to make the team before the season. Worley, 27, appeared in eight games with one start during the 2022 season.

The Philadelphia native, who has 280 career NFL tackles to his credit, was drafted in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers after playing his collegiate ball with the Mountaineers.

A History of WVU Products in the NFL Draft

In the 2014 and 2015 seasons, Worley played in 23 games at cornerback for West Virginia. WVU fans often heard Worley’s name as he totaled 101 tackles in those two seasons, including 90 solo tackles.

After two seasons with the Panthers, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles following their Super Bowl victory.

His stint with the Eagles was short after being cut by the team due to some legal troubles. Only a week later, Worley landed a contract with the Oakland Raiders, missing the first four games due to a suspension from the NFL.

Worley also spent time with the Cowboys, Bills, Raiders, Cardinals and Lions before joining the Ravens.
