Former Mountaineer Expresses Real Confidence in WVU as Response to Virtual Title

A former Mountaineer replied with his own thoughts about WVU posting an image of West Virginia winning a virtual Big 12 title.
“Might look like a game to some but just wait til the real thing happens,” said Davoan Hawkins on X (formerly Twitter). It’s safe to say Hawkins believes in his old teammates and thinks highly of the Mountaineers in 2024.

Hawkins, who despite spending only one season at WVU, has become one of the most popular players from recent memory. Part of Hawkins popularity comes from his supreme support of everything Mountaineers.
After totaling 31 tackles in 2022 at Tennessee State, the Florida native recorded seven tackles and one sack in 13 games during the 2023 season. He initially started his college career in 2018 at Kentucky.
Hawkins’ most memorable highlight at WVU came after a game. WV Sports Now captured Hawkins dancing along with the band as his way of celebrating the win over Cincinnati in November.
