Latest Crop of WVU Football Transfer Players to Ink Deals as Mountaineers
A handful of new Mountaineers signed on with the WVU football program on Tuesday, adding to the count of 2026 transfer additions.
Joining the others who transitioned from commits to signees recently are punter Bryan Hansen, offensive lineman Devin Vass, defensive lineman Harper Holloman and wide receiver TaRon Francis.
Signing just four days after announcing his commitment, the 6-foot-3 and 210-pound Hansen recorded 57 punts in 2025 for an average of 47.9 per boot. He had 13 downed inside the 20 and rocketed 23 over 50-plus yards.
Also having kicked kickoffs in the past, Hansen has totaled 6,667 yards and 55 touchbacks on 106 attempts in his career.
The 2026 season should mark the last of one of Hansenโs eligibility.
Vass, a redshirt sophomore who revealed his decision on Jan. 7, will have two years of eligibility remaining upon joining the Mountaineers.
The 6-foot-6, 308-pounder saw action in 11 of 12 games this season for the Wildcats, who finished the season at 6-6 overall after beginning the campaign ranked No. 17 in the AP poll.
Vass didnโt see any field action in 2024 after redshirting his true freshman season in 2023.
Prior to enrolling at Kansas State, Vass was ranked as a three-star prospect in the Class of 2023. He was the No. 75 ranked offensive tackle in his class and the No. 178 overall player from his home state of Florida.
The 6-foot-2, 255-pound Holloman announced his commitment on Instagram on Friday and then signed on Monday. Heโs coming to West Virginia off a season that saw him start every game and record 39 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss and add two sacks.
Holloman has appeared in 21 games in total throughout his two seasons of college football.
The Georgia native has two more years left of eligibility remaining.
One of WVUโs Power Four transfers, Francis (6-foot-1 and 207 pounds) did not record any stats in his limited time as a true freshman in 2025 โ he appeared in fives games and was mostly involved on special teams, but was a four-star prospect out of high school.
The New Orleans native has also heard from BYU, Louisville, Utah, Wake Forest and Washington State. He was considered a consensus four-star out of high school.
Francisโ bigger size would make him a unique target for the WVU offense based on the current wide receiver transfer commits and who was brought in as part of the 2026 recruiting class.
