Ahead of their matchup with West Virginia, Oklahoma State has officially lost a player to the transfer portal. While the news isn’t shocking because he announced his intentions a couple of weeks ago, offensive lineman Jason Brooks Jr. is now a former Cowboy and in the portal as of Tuesday, per On3 Sports.

“I will be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer and eligible for recruitment starting October 1st, two weeks from today,” said Brooks on X (formerly Twitter) on Sept. 17.

A 6-foot-3, 310-pound guard, Brooks started 11 games during his time with Oklahoma State after transferring from Vanderbilt. He even started the first seven games in 2023 before an injury hampered him the rest of the season.

According to reports, Oklahoma State didn’t play Brooks in 2024 because they were planning to use the year as a redshirt season. Obviously, Brooks had other plans and is now in search of his third college program in hopes of getting on the field as soon as possible.

Brooks was a three-star prospect out of Dobie High School in Houston, Texas.
