Phillip Bowser Returns as Part of Revamped OL After a Redshirt Year | WVU Football All 105
All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2026 WVU Football Roster.
Phillip Bowser earned a three-star ranking in high school, receiving offers from close to two dozen other college programs — UCF and Ohio State among them — before settling on WVU Football. He then experienced a redstart season as a Mountaineer in 2025.
A 6-foot-4, 266-pound offensive tackle, Bowser is one of the carryovers on a revamped offensive line that’s now coached by the legendary Rick Trickett.
The offensive line served as a major priority for Rodriguez and company this offseason, but with more experienced players to compete with in summer practices, it still might take time for Bowser to find a role on the field.

Camp outlook: Bowser will have a chance to carve out some sort of role with the Mountaineers, whether earning snaps as a swing tackle, a high end reserve or on special teams.

Accolades, highlights: Bowser earned a three-star ranking from 247Sports and Rivals, helping Ursuline High School create one of the top rushing attacks in the state of Ohio. He also earned a second team All-State nod in the AAA classification.
