Witherspoon, a 6-foot-6 prospect, completed visits to Maryland, Vanderbilt, WVU and Pitt within the last week. He also planned on visiting Virginia Tech, Butler and Clemson. Witherspoon was not expected to schedule any other visits after that group, per source.
Witherspoon included West Virginia in his top 10 list. Along with WVU, Witherspoon was also considering Butler, Clemson, George Mason, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech and Xavier.
Along with Witherspoon, 2025 four-star guard Kelvin Odih visited West Virginia this past weekend. Odih, 6-foot-4, is a rising senior at South Kent School in Connecticut. Odih is considering West Virginia in his recruitment, as he released his top six schools on Aug. 9. Odih is also looking at Colorado, Creighton, Louisville, Oklahoma State and Rutgers.
Odih spoke with WV Sports Now about his visit, which included meeting former Mountaineer Deuce McBride.
“Everything was great. I really enjoyed my time over there. The coaching staff was very welcoming,” he said.
