Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports has reported that Dayton has dropped out of the Crossover Classic and will be replaced by Utah State.

Dayton is the third team to drop out of the South Dakota-based event, joining Ohio State and Utah. South Dakota State replaced Utah and St. Marys replaced Ohio State.

WVU coach Bob Huggins said last week that there is no fear of the event being canceled, according to what he has heard.

Duke also dropped out of the event, however, that was before it was relocated to South Dakota and rebranded to the Crossover Classic.

Dayton was on the opposite side of the tournament bracket from West Virginia, meaning Utah State and WVU could only meet on the third day, Nov. 27. The Aggies are another good team joining the event, having gone 26-8 last season, 12-6 in the Mountain West Conference. They won the Mountain West Championship, beating San Diego State 59-56 in the tournament final.

The Crossover Classic will start on Nov. 25 with the first game between WVU and Texas A&M.
