WVU Announces Licensing Agreement for Craft Beers

WVU will partner with two craft breweries to produce officially licensed craft beers to be sold at WVU sporting events, the University announced in a release.
Big Timber Brewing out of Elkins will make “Mountain Beer” while New Trail Brewing Company from Williamsport, Pennsylvania will produce “Crisp Lager.”
Both drinks will feature the “Flying WV” with “Mountain Beer” being a hop-forward session pale ale and “Crisp Lager” having mountain water and malts.
Along with being available at games at Milan Puskar Stadium and the WVU Coliseum, the drinks can be purchased at other locations where Big Timber and New Trail products are sold.
โThe operators of both Big Timber and New Trail understand the grit and dedication of Mountaineer fans,โ said Nikki Goodenow, executive director of Strategic Partnerships and Licensing as part of WVUโs press release.
โWeโre always looking for opportunities to expand the WVU brand and tap into new categories for the benefit of our fans and the institution as a whole,โ added Goodenow.
โWeโre proud to partner with WVU to celebrate the rich traditions of the Mountain State,โ said Dave Hertwig, CEO of New Trail Brewing Company.
โAt New Trail Brewing, we believe in exploration, community, giving back and the pride of the outdoors. This beer is a toast to that. Whether you are hiking a trail or cheering from the stands, this beer is meant to bring people together.โ
Big Timber Brewing Company also produces Trust Lager, which helps raise funds for Country Roads Trust, WVU’s NIL collective.
