About an hour before West Virginia’s second date with No. 6 Kansas, WVU F Gabe Osabuohien was seen warming up. Osabuohien missed the last game against Kansas State due to a coaching decision made by Bob Huggins to bench the fifth-year senior.

On Friday morning, WVU head coach Bob Huggins was asked whether or not Gabe Osabuohien would play. Osabuohien was benched during the Kansas State game due to a coaching decision.

“Gabe is his own worst enemy,” Huggins said. “He’s got one more day of practice to figure it out and if he doesn’t, he will sit on the bench.”

At the end of the Oklahoma State game last Saturday, Osabuohien was charged with two technicals after running his mouth with the officials. Huggins had some words for Osabuohien as the forward was walking off the floor. Safe to say Huggins was teaching Osabuohien a lesson on Monday night for not playing him.

“It’s about doing the right thing. You don’t do things that hurt your teammates,” Huggins said.

Osabuohien is averaging 4.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.7 blocks in 23 games and is looking to play one of his final games at the WVU Coliseum.
