The West Virginia men’s basketball team returned to practice on Tuesday, after a short holiday break. Some of the players went home immediately following the 82-52 win over Youngstown State last Wednesday.

The Mountaineers headed into the Christmas break with an 11-1 record through non-conference play. West Virginia’s most notable wins are UConn (56-53), UAB (65-59), Clemson (66-59), and Oakland (60-53). Their only loss this season was to Marquette (82-71).

WVU will continue to prepare for its first taste of Big 12 play, when the team travels to Austin to take on No. 17 Texas, on New Year’s Day. The Longhorns are 9-2 under head coach Chris Beard’s first season. WVU and Texas are set to tipoff at noon on Saturday.
