Best Virginia Adds TBT Great to Roster

Best Virginia continues to add to its TBT roster for this summer as the WVU alumni-based team welcomes former Youngstown State and Central Michigan guard Marcus Keene.
Keene has played in the TBT Tournament multiple times with Sideline Cancer and has created some great moments during the Elam endings.
“Keene is one of the best guards to ever play in the TBT,” HC/GM Chase Harler said. “His ability to score to second to none. He has the toughness that we want to play with. Itโs a perfect match for Keene to be a part of our Best Virginia family.”

Keene averaged 30.0 points per game during his final season at Central Michigan, becoming one of the highest single-season scorers in college basketball history.
On Wednesday, the TBT field found out their seed lines and opponents. Best Virginia received a 3-seed and will take on Brotherly Love in the first round. Thereโs a potential chance at a Backyard Brawl matchup in the second round vs. Zoo Crew, Pittโs alumni team.
So far, Best Virginiaโs roster consists ofย Teyvon Myersย (G),ย Jonathan Holtonย (F),ย Taz Shermanย (G),ย Wesley Harrisย (F),ย Esa Ahmadย (F),ย Sagaba Konate (F), Xavier Bledson (G – Indiana State) and Keene. Harler will serve as head coach with now-assistant Kevin Jones.
As Harler returns, so does Greg Richardson (assistant GM) and Dave Ryan (marketing), who are in the works again with the team.
This will be the first time since 2020 that Best Virginia wonโt host their own regional, playing in Charleston and Wheeling the last three summers. Pittโs alumni team, The Zoo Crew, will do the honors of hosting their own regional this summer at the Petersen Events Center from July 20-24.
The Basketball Tournament is a 64-team field, which the winning team takes home $1 million.
