Big 12 Conference Announces Men’s Basketball Schedule, WVU To Start on The Road at Texas
On Wednesday afternoon, the Big 12 Conference released the conference schedule for men’s basketball.
The conference schedule will stay with the same format of each team playing each other twice.
West Virginia will open the conference season in Austin, TX, against the Chris Beard coached Texas Longhorns on Jan. 1. The Mountaineers will open up home play in the Big 12 at the WVU Coliseum for Kansas State on Jan. 8.
WVU will make their annual trip to Lawrence, Kansas on Jan. 15, and then host the Jayhawks on Feb. 19.
Last season, West Virginia and Baylor struggled to get even one game scheduled due to COVID problems by both teams. This season, the Mountaineers and Bears are set to play once in Morgantown, West Virginia, on Jan. 18 and then in Waco, TX, on Jan. 31.
The season concludes on the road at Oklahoma and then senior day against TCU on Mar. 5.
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Tournament Championship will be played from Mar. 9-12 in Kansas City, Missouri.
