WVU Football Recruiting
Complete List of Recruits Taking WVU Football Official Visits This Weekend

Another busy weekend is ahead for the WVU football staff, with many of their top recruits in Morgantown for their official visits. And after already hosting some last weekend and expecting commitments to start rolling in, the West Virginia program is ushering out the red carpet for the high school players they are prioritizing the most.
Below is a list of the high school prospects who will be in town for a full weekend experience.
This list includes players just looking to solidify their commitment to WVU and others still contemplating their college home.
Already committed to the WVU football program, 2026 Ohio tight end Sam Hamilton will be headed back to Morgantown this weekend. Hamilton will be in town all weekend on an official visit.
Hamilton committed to West Virginia in February after spending time on campus for Junior Day. After being initially offered by Neal Brownโs staff, Hamilton was re-offered by West Virginia tight ends coach Michael Nysewander in January.
Nysewander then visited Hamilton at his home on Jan. 21 to schedule his trip to Morgantown.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Archbishop Moeller product out of Cincinnati also held offers from Power Four programs like Duke, Houston, Kentucky and Washington among others before locking in with WVU.

A month after receiving a visit from a West Virginia coach, 2026 offensive line recruit DโNilyeon Taylor will be in Morgantown for a full weekend experience with the WVU football staff.
The 6-foot-5, 295-pound Taylor is on West Virginiaโs radar due to his size and athleticism. Rich Rodriguezโs staff sent Taylor an offer on April 12 to confirm their continued interest since he was initially being recruited by the Neal Browโs staff.
In an effort to secure a recruiting win over a couple regional rivals, the WVU football staff will welcome an Ohio offensive lineman to Morgantown for an official visit.
The 6-foot-4 and 290-pound Mason Wilhelm announced his upcoming trip on social media, revealing he will be in town for a full weekend from June 6-8.
Wilhelm, who attends St. Edward High School in Westlake, Ohio, carries a three-star rating from multiple major recruiting services. Heโs ranked as the No. 63 Ohio player in his class and the No. 101 interior offensive lineman in the country.
DL Noah Tishendorf (Oregon State commit)
Will WVU be able to steal away a recruit already committed to stay home on the other side of the country? It definitely sounds like it’s a real possibility.
WV Sports Now caught up with Noah Tishendorf soon after he announced his official visit to West Virginia in June.
Tishendorf (6-foot-3, 255 pounds), an edge rusher from Oregon, has an official visit scheduled with WVU for the weekend of June 6-8. And despite already being committed to stay in his home state and play for Oregon State, Tishendorf is still entertaining the possibility of flipping to West Virginia.

A few months after committing to be a future Mountaineer, 2026 safety Taj Powell will be back in Morgantown to check out the WVU football program this coming weekend.
Despite committing in April, the 6-foot-3 and 205 pound Springfield High School product out of Springfield, Ohio is still taking an official visit to solidify his desire to move to West Virginia when he finishes high school.
Considered a three-star prospect, Powell was offered by West Virginia defensive coordinator Zac Alley directly in late January and then quickly spent some time on the WVU campus.
Powell has had his West Virginia official visit booked for early June since February.

Will Jimmy Gregg stay home and attend WVU or will he take his talents elsewhere and leave West Virginia? That’s the question those following the recruitment of one of the top specialists in the country are wondering.
On the heels of WVU’s special teams coordinator Pat Kirkland stopping by Gregg’s house in Morgantown, WV Sports Now talked with the 2026 punter prospect about what he’s been hearing from the Mountaineers and which other schools are trying to the local kid away.
