John Flowers Reveals the Latest Addition for Best Virginia in TBT

Before the first season of the Ross Hodge era for tips off in the fall, WVU fans will be able to watch select alumni play in another TBT.

The 2025 version of Best Virginia is also taking shape, with Esa Ahmad announced for the roster by John Flowers on the latest episode of the Final Fourcast podcast.

Ahmad spent four years at WVU from 2015-2019, scoring a total of produced 1,039 points and averaging 9.3 points per game during his college career. He also averaged 4.3 rebounds per game as a Mountaineer.

The Cleveland, OH, native did have his time in Morgantown cut short when he was dismissed from the team for violating athletic department policies in February of his senior season.

Since leaving WVU, Ahmad has played professionally in Cyprus, Hungary, Argentina, Germany and Czech Republic.

Ahmad becomes the fourth player announced for Best Virginia, joining Jermaine Haley, Kedrian Johnson and Erik Stevenson.

The TBTย returns to West Virginia this year as the 2025 West Virginia Regional will be played in the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center from July 18-23. Charleston previously hosted TBT regionals in 2021 and 2022.
