WVU Basketball Moves Up in KenPom Despite Ohio State Loss
Despite handing away a 16-point lead to Ohio State in an 89-88 double overtime loss Saturday, WVU basketball moved up in the KenPom rankings.
After being at No. 74 to start the day, WVU moved to No. 71. However, the team’s net rating dropped from 12.10 to 11.91.
West Virginia has a resume of a 70-54 win over Mount Saint Maryโs, a 73-65 win over Campbell,ย a 69-47 victory over Lehigh, a 71-49 domination of Pitt in the Backyard Brawl, aย 81-59 blowout win over Lafayette,ย a 70-38 ย routing of Mercyhurst and a 91-49 blowout win over Coppin State.
WVU started last season at No. 87 in the KenPom rankings and ended at No. 51.
This season marks the first year of Ross Hodge at the helm of WVU, with the program seeing its fourth head coach in as many years.
Looking at the rest of the Big 12, Iowa State is No. 2, Arizona is No. 6, Houston is No. 8, BYU is No. 10, Kansas is No. 17, Texas Tech is No. 24, Baylor is No. 34, UCF is No. 52, Oklahoma State is No. 55, TCU is No. 56 and Colorado is No. 60 and Arizona State is 63.
