Mountaineers in the Pros
Erik Stevenson to Play in NBA Summer League, Not the TBT

Erik Stevenson will be playing competitive basketball this summer, just not for Best Virginia in the TBT. Instead, the former Mountaineer will take part in the NBA Summer League.
As announced by Best Virginia general manager John Flowers, Stevenson has agreed to play with Miami Heat for the summer.
“Congrats to Erik Stevenson on getting signed with the Miami heat summer league! Unfortunately he won’t be able to play TBT with Best virginia this year. We have to get a DOG as his replacement,” said Flowers.

Stevenson was one of the first players announced for Best Virginia in May.
Stevenson has most recently pivoted success in the NBA’s G League to an opportunity with the Washington Wizards.
In his TBT debut in 2023, Stevenson averaged 12.5 points and seven rebounds per game. For the moment still remembered to this day, Stevenson hit the game-winning shot in the opening roundand then pointed to his WVU coach Bob Huggins in the crowd. This gesture from Stevenson came on the heels of Huggins’ exit from West Virginia after multiple scandals put an abrupt end to his Hall of Fame career.
Stevenson wrapped up his final year of eligibility at West Virginia during the 2022-23 season, helping the Mountaineers make the NCAA Tournament. Stevenson averaged 15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 43 percent shooting from the field. The fifth-year senior played his best towards the end of the year, recording five straight 20-point-plus games at the end of February.
Before becoming a Mountaineer, Stevenson also experienced time with Wichita State, Washington and South Carolina throughout his college career.
