Where Does WVU Basketball Stand in KenPom Heading Into Utah Game?
Returning to the friendly Hope Coliseum after a big come-from-behind win at UCF, WVU basketball is sitting in a favorable position heading into their matchup with Utah.
Ahead of their game with the Utes on Wednesday night, the Mountaineers are ranked in the No. 56 spot in KenPom. But West Virginia has moved backwards just a bit since returning home from Orlando. WVU jumped up to No. 54 by Sunday morning.
It’s safe to say Ross Hodge’s team will need a convincing victory over a struggling Utah team to maintain their ranking. The Utes enter the game at 9-16 and in last place in the Big 12 with a 1-11 conference record. In contrast, WVU is 16-9 and 7-5 in Big 12 play.

Jasper Floyd Comes Up Clutch for WVU Basketball in Win Over UCF
Looking at the rest of the Big 12, Arizona is No. 2, Houston is No. 4, Iowa State is No. 7, Kansas is No. 15, Texas Tech is No. 17, BYU is No. 22, Baylor is No. 44, TCU is No. 50, Cincinnati is No. 51 and UCF is No. 53.
WVU started last season at No. 87 in the KenPom rankings and ended at No. 51.
