WVU Basketball Only Drops Slightly in KenPom After Losing to Utah at Home

WVU basketball dropped five spots in the KenPom rankings after a disappointing 61-56 loss to Utah at home on Wednesday night.

The Mountaineers started the day at No. 56, but dropped to No. 60 after the game with a net rating of 12.61.

West Virginia has a resume of a 70-54 win over Mount Saint Maryโ€™s, a 73-65 win over Campbell,ย a 69-47 victory over Lehigh, a 71-49 domination of Pitt in the Backyard Brawl, aย 81-59 blowout win over Lafayette,ย a 70-38 ย routing of Mercyhurst,ย a 91-49 blowout win over Coppin State,ย a 90-58 win over Little Rock,ย an 86-51 win over MVSU, ย two winsย over Cincinnati, aย 86-75 upset over Kansas, a convincing 72-61 win over Colorado,ย 75-63 road win at Arizona State,ย aย gritty 59-54 win over Kansas State and a 74-63 comeback win over UCF.

Looking at the rest of the Big 12, Arizona is No. 3, Houston is No. 5, Iowa State is No. 7, Kansas is No. 14, Texas Tech is No. 18, BYU is No. 22, Baylor is No. 47, UCF is No. 48, Cincinnati is No. 49 and TCU is No. 51.

WVU started last season at No. 87 in the KenPom rankings and ended at No. 51.
